Department of Justice lifts a road block to legalize online gambling.

Many rumors across the board on an eventual legalization of online gambling in The US, have appeared and disappeared throughout 2011.

The latest news come from the legal office of the department of justice as lifting a long held opposition into any communications based gambling and act dating since 1961 called the Wire act of 1961.

On a report made by The New York Times, State lotteries superintendents from NY and IL (Mr. Medica and Mr. Jones), are confirming with staggering enthusiasm the news from the Department of Justice.

Although the Legal opinion is only for state lottery tickets it is presumable that other based online games and wagering could follow up soon.  The estimated wagering and online gaming industry is roughly estimated to be around 100 BN a year for the US Market alone, including all sections and trends.  Based on these numbers the US Tax collector may be able to raise some much needed funds for Social plans in the US stimulus packages.

Prior this year on April a crackdown on Illegal gambling activities exposed companies such fult tilt Poker, Pokerstar and Absolute poker for violating the 2006 prohibition act on online gambling. The possible reform is intended to regulate the online gambling industry and collect funds.
